Formal training and a superior record of accomplishments in biomedical informatics, have significant leadership experience, and a record of

Responsibilities & Requirements: The Stony Brook University School of Medicine is seeking a leader in
Biomedical Informatics for an endowed chair position, and founding director of a BMI program and
Center. With the recent approval of the
NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant to the University and the announcement of the largest gift ever to public higher education in the State of New
York, the School of Medicine and the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences are embarking on a transformational expansion of the
biomedical, computational, and clinical research enterprise. The investment in biomedical informatics, an important component of this
transformation, will include the development of a biomedical informatics graduate program and expansion of the faculty. The additional
faculty lines will include, among others, clinical informatics, public health informatics, computational biology, computational imaging,
artificial intelligence, and database and networking. This exciting endeavor will train the next generation of Bioinformaticists for
leadership positions enabling important applications in clinical and translational research, clinical care and public health.
Special Notes: This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. **Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
