Flight ***

Director Robert Zemeckis? first live-action movie since 2000?s Cast Away stars Denzel Washington as an airline pilot with substance abuse problems whose alcoholism is revealed after he becomes a hero for saving the lives of his passengers when he safely lands a malfunctioning plane during a disastrous flight. This not so much a Plane crash movie as it is a story about alcoholism. Also starring John Goodman (WHO SHOULD GET AN Academy Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actor), Don Cheadle and Melissa Leo (R) 139 minutes. Three stars

Wreck-It-Ralph **1/2
The villain (voiced by John C. Reilly) of an old-school 1980s arcade video game (think Donkey Kong, only not exactly) tires of always being the bad guy and starts to sneak into other video games to play the hero. Ralph is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, the ?good guy? star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he?s tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he?s got what it takes to be a hero. But the world of the feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz from the candy-coated cart racing game, Sugar Rush, is threatened when Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade. Will Ralph realize his dream and save the day before it?s too late? Featuring cameos by Pac-Man, Sonic and Q*Bert. Also starring Sarah Silverman. Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. (PG) 98 minutes. Two and a half stars

The Man with the Iron Fists *1/2
Wu-Tang Clan member RZA makes his directorial debut with this martial arts adventure (co-written by Hostel?s Eli Roth) about a blacksmith (Russell Crowe) who must help defend his small village from attackers in feudal China. In 19th-century China, a stranger (RZA) settles in a jungle village and becomes its blacksmith. Radical tribal factions force him to fashion elaborate tools of destruction, and the clans? conflict soon erupts into a full war. Knowing he must take action, the blacksmith channels an ancient energy to transform himself into a human weapon. Fighting beside iconic heroes, the blacksmith harnesses this incredible power to defend his adopted people from an army of soulless villains. Kanye West and The Black Keys contributed to the soundtrack, and Quentin Tarantino served as a consultant. Oh, and it?s in 3D. How?s that for eclectic? Also starring Lucy Liu and Pam Grier. (R) 96 minutes. One and a half stars
