Those claws might be a prop, but the movie magic stops there. When we first saw the recently released promotional shot of Hugh Jackman as "The Wolverine," we wondered if the image of Jackman with veiny, rippling muscles and diamond-cut abs?might be a result of a CGI-enhanced workout.

Hugh Jackman seen on the beach in Australia, left, and in a promotional image for his new movie, "The Wolverine."
But based on a candid shot of Jackman at the beach, we're sold. What you see in the "Wolverine" poster is all Hugh Jackman.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Jackman, 43, was asked to gain 25 pounds of muscle for the film. He contacted Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who told him to gain a pound a week by by eating 6,000 calories daily, focusing on chicken, steak and brown rice. It's not a diet for everyone, but it seems to have worked.
In 2011, Jackman confessed that his wife is "always upset with me if I'm in really good shape," joking he shouldn't outshine her.
"The Wolverine" is scheduled for a July 2013 release. It will be the sixth "X Men" film and a sequel to 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," also starring Jackman.
